Columbus’ first cat cafe, two delicious-sounding businesses set up shop just south of Downtown and a board game to flex your strategy muscle – these four operations are looking for your dollars and support this month.
Keep reading for the details on each, and to see how last month’s lot fared.
Eat∙Purr∙Love (Central OH’s first & one-of-a-kind) Cat Cafe!
Eat Purr Love is bringing Columbus its first cat cafe. Coffee, treats from Pattycake Bakery and purrs will all be a part of the operation as patrons play with adoptable cats from the Capital Area Humane Society. The cat cafe has already found the “purrfect” location and crossed many of the hurdles needed to open. Eat Purr Love is seeking funds to help with buildout that will separate the cats from the cafe, and make sure its felines have all the bells and whistles in their area.
From Victorian house to barbecue joint, Smoked on High is working towards the opening of its first brick-and-mortar restaurant in the Brewery District. Owner Max McGarity has the smoked part down, perfecting his meats over the last few years through food truck and catering businesses, but is making a final push for investors to finish off the restaurant and open doors by August 15.
Doughnuts to your doorstep, or office step, or event step – that’s the aim of newly created Tupelo Doughnuts. It’s a full doughnut assault as the treat maker is working on a brick-and-mortar in German Village and revamping a 1950s dairy truck into a mobile operation. Tupelo is raising funds for the doughnut truck’s roll out.
Island’s Bounty – a board game of deduction and strategy
Sgt Wombat Studios is taking its creative talents offline going from app developers to its first board game, Island’s Bounty. The strategy-based board game that’s a hunt for buried treasure is raising funds to go from prototype to professional.
