Derek Ray will be speaking at the February 2012 Startup Weekend here in Columbus. The 54-hour event, which focuses on building web and mobile applications, kicks off Feb. 17 at TechColumbus, located at 1275 Kinnear Rd.
Rey is the founder of social engagement platform Social Envy and co-founder of Adly, the largest celebrity endorsement platform in social media, which represents more than 1,400 celebrities worldwide. He has been a featured guest on Fox News to discuss Twitter advertising and is a member of the ThinkLA advertising industry group in Los Angeles.
Rey began his career in Hong Kong, where studied under prominent Asian entrepreneur Mila How. He returned to San Francisco to join Technorati, the leading blogosphere search engine and one of the first social media companies to embrace the online conversation.
