Double Comfort Launches Line of Retail Products

After closing their brick-and-mortarĀ restaurant earlier this year, Double Comfort is bouncing back in a new direction. The local company has launched a line of sauces and spices that will helpĀ former customers recreate their popular dishes at home.

“Although our restaurant has closed, our commitment to maintaining a culinary focus on comfort foods and seasonings has not,”Ā statedĀ founder Mary Lyski. “Our guests have told us that their love of the golden-brown fried chicken and waffles, or red beans & rice with house-made Andouille sausage, still lingers in their minds.”

Launched as a social enterprise with a buy-one-give-one model, Double Comfort was recognized by The Metropreneur as a 2016 finalist for the ASPIRE award. That mission carries forward under the new business model, where profits raised throughĀ sauce and spice sales are donated toĀ local food pantries.

“Our team continues to work to identify meaningful relationships and new opportunities to sustain and grow our social enterprise, and to secure collaborators and retail partners who can join us in directing much-needed funds toward hunger relief in our local communities,” said Lyski.

Customers interested inĀ acquiring products can find them inĀ Ohio retail outlets including Hills Market, CaJohnā€™s Fiery Foods North Market, Celebrate Local, Jungle Jimā€™s and Bluescreek Farm Market.
