Middle West Spirits Thursday announced that it has added locally-owned public relations firm The Walston Group LLC to its marketing team.
The Walston Group CEO and Founder Natalie Walston has extensive experience in media, and public and government relations in Central Ohio. She served as director of communications for the Ohio Corn & Wheat Growers Association prior to founding The Walston Group in August.
“Natalie’s experience in Ohio’s agriculture industry makes her a perfect fit for our business, which prides itself on creating a more direct connection between the consumer and the producer, by sourcing local and by celebrating flavors that are authentically Ohio,” says Brady Konya, principal and co-founder of Middle West Spirits.
The Walston Group, which also offers social media management and crisis communications services, counts comedian, politician and real estate developer Drew Hastings among its clients.
Middle West Spirits is an artisan micro-distillery whose award-winning OYO brand Vodka, OYO Honey Vanilla Bean Vodka, and OYO Whiskey are made solely from Ohio’s soft red winter wheat. The company is the first commercial distillery to make vodkas and whiskeys exclusively from Ohio’s unique wheat.
The company is preparing for an expanded line of products, with additional seasonal spirits and whiskey varieties to be released in 2012.
