    Ohio Tourism Division Teams with Groupon for Food, Shelter, Event Deals

    The Ohio Tourism Division has partnered with Groupon to provide daily deals in seven markets across the state during Ohio Tourism Week. The team effort, which is scheduled to coincide with National Tourism Week, kicks off May 9.

    During Ohio Tourism Week, Groupon deals in each of its Ohio markets −Columbus, Dayton, Cincinnati, Toledo, Cleveland, Akron-Canton, and Youngstown− will be offers from some of Ohio’s “best-loved and hidden-gem attractions,” according to a release issued by the state’s tourism division.

    Deals include restaurant offers, lodging options, museum passes, lodging options, and tickets to musical programs, sporting events and local festivals. The deals are aimed at consumers throughout Ohio and in surrounding states for the upcoming spring and summer travel seasons.

    “May is peak travel planning time for Ohio visitors and our partnership with Groupon will make vacation decisions easier and more affordable for families of all sizes,” says Ohio Tourism Division Director Amir Eylon. “With this new and innovative partnership, we’re able to bring consumers an unprecedented week of deals through Groupon, a company that strives to find and share offers from the best local businesses throughout Ohio.”

    The Ohio Tourism Division claims its marketing programs have contributed to about $36 billion in total sales in 2009 and 437,000 jobs sustained by visitors to the state.
