The $2,500 scholarship covers the six-month program that beings on March 1st and includes over 70 hours of educational training. The course is well-suited for women who are in the early stags of their business development, aiming to help them build a solid foundation upon which to grow. The course covers topics like:

    • • Credit report and repair plan
    • • Marketing plan
    • • Sales plan
    • • Business plan
    • • Growth strategy
    • • Funding advice
    • • Pitch and presentation training
    • • Personalized business consulting

As an added bonus, the scholarship recipient will also receive an additional six months of mentorship through WSBA’s Business Circles.

“Whereas the education program is more intensive and structured, the Business Circles are driven by the participants’ needs,” says WSBA’s Executive Director Sharon DeLay. “Our participants may have urgent issues they need to discuss, so we have a more flexible agenda in the Business Circles, allowing us to be responsive to the participants and their unique needs.”

Any new or established woman business owner can apply before February 26th to be eligible for the scholarship. A winner will be chosen based on their business idea, unique story and the reasons they feel they should win the scholarship.
