10-xelerator accepting applications for Winter 2012

Do you have an idea for a tech startup that you want to launch? Would you like free hands-on assistance from local mentors and experts? Would you also like $20,000 to get your startup up and running?

Well, then you’re looking in the right place.

The 10-xelerator is now accepting applications for their Winter 2012 program, which includes all of the assistance mentioned above for the 10 teams selected.

“The 10x program is modeled after other established accelerators, like Y-Combinator and TechStars, where we recruit the strongest technology entrepreneurial teams, provide seed funding, and, along with experienced mentors and coaches, develop the innovative ideas to attract significant follow-on venture capital,” says Michael Camp, executive director of Fisher’s Center for Entrepreneurship.

The 10 teams from the Summer 2011 program just wrapped up with Showcase Day on Sept. 1. The Metropreneur recently profiled two startups from the summer 2011 program: Acceptd and Incrwd.

Applications are due by Nov. 20 at 11:59 p.m. Applicant teams must consist of at least two individuals, and teams must be able to be located in Columbus during the duration of the 11-week program.
