15 Local Businesses Selected for Accelerator Program

The Center for Social Enterprise Development (CSED) announced today the 15 local businesses that have been chosen to participate in the social enterprise accelerator program known as SEA Change. The program includes a 12-week online curriculum, with hands-on assistance from leaders and experts all throughout.

“SEA Change is the second accelerator program presented by CSED, complementing the eight-month SE Catalyst immersion initiative that launched in February,” said CSED President and CEO Allen Proctor. “SEA Change is designed for new social entrepreneurs seeking intensive learning prior to launching their ventures.”

The 15 businesses selected for the program include:

The program is scheduled to run from May to July. Once completed, participants will take part in a pitch event targeted at local investors, partners, mentors and clients. Up to $100,000 in social impact investments will be made through grants or loans allocated to helping launch or scale up these social enterprises at the end of the program.

“We are excited to see how SEA Change will contribute to Columbus’ growing social enterprise movement,” said Bill Leamon, Managing Director, The Business of Good Foundation, and a SEA Change founding philanthropic partner. “The 15 organizations we have selected will learn how to increase their social impact, while sustaining smart business operations.”
