Attention owners, presidents, and CEOs of local privately-held companies: Aileron wants you at its next event.
The Dayton-based nonprofit dedicated to developing small businesses is hosting Lunch & Learn Columbus: Roundtable with Business Owners on Wednesday from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at sparkspace in the Arena District.
Aileron Communications Manager Jean Webster will kick off the event with a 15-minute introduction to the organization, which was founded by Clay Mathile, a former owner of the IAMS Co. A panel discussion −featuring Rob Moyer, CEO of Rexarc; Aaron Shocket, president of Parking Solutions; and Alex Mendoza, president of Mendoza Co. Inc.− will follow.
“All three panelists are Columbus business owners who have taken Aileron’s Course for Presidents and have been involved with Aileron in many different ways,” Webster says. “Rob Moyer has been involved since 2006, Aaron Shocket and Alex Mendoza since early 2010. They are all in different industries and have varied backgrounds. However, all have been positively impacted since partnering with Aileron.”
Possible questions for the panel include:
- • What professional management concepts or approaches have you implemented and what have been the impacts to your business?
- • How have you implemented one or more aspects of professional management in your organization?
- • What’s your role as the owner, president, or CEO in implementing professional management?
Aileron hopes the roundtable discussion will connect Columbus business owners and make them comfortable with using Aileron as a resource, Webster says.
“Being a business owner can be a very lonely job, and we want to share with them that there is an easier way to manage a business and that they are not in it alone,” she adds.
The event costs $15 per person and includes a light lunch.
