Olive spinout Circulo is aiming to disrupt the Medicaid insurance industry.
“Circulo is going to use Olive’s unique platform to build the Medicaid insurance company of the future from scratch, right here in Columbus, Ohio – the emerging insurtech capital of the U.S.” said Sean Lane, CEO of Circulo and Olive in a press release.
The startup’s goal is to make serving the Medicaid population easier by levering technology solutions for providers, payers, and members.
For members, Circulo streamlines the process of coverage. The company connects members with a doctor where they receive treatment, a prescription or a referral, and Circulo pays the bill.
For providers, Circulo is focused on revolutionizing billing with claims like no prior authorization and zero denial rate.
2021 marked some major milestones for the insurance startup. In February, Circulo received $50 million in Series A funding from Drive Capital, General Catalyst, Oak HC/FT, and SVB Capital, and as of December the company is officially a licensed insurer in the state of Ohio.
