Today the Center for Social Enterprise Development (CSED) launched its newest initiative, Shop Social Cbus, a website that features offers from social enterprises throughout Central Ohio.
“As an advocate for social entrepreneurs, CSED designed Shop Social Cbus as a marketplace where social enterprises and consumers can connect, sell and buy goods and services, and collectively increase social impact,” said Allen Proctor, president and CEO of CSED.
From dog treats to cleaning services, 17 social enterprises have posted offers to date, and CSED hopes to add more in the near future, from the more than 90 and counting social enterprises throughout Central Ohio.
“The post-election environment has escalated consumers’ desires to increase their purchasing power to do good—in a sustainable way,” continued Proctor. “And Shop Social Cbus is one way that CSED can both fulfill its mission in terms of supporting local social enterprises and fulfilling consumers’ demands.”
CSED was founded in 2014 and provides information, training, mentoring and support to enable charitable organizations to develop new business activities that show strong promise of producing new sources of revenues to support and advance their charitable mission.
CSED programs are open to all interested individuals and organizations who are dedicated to producing social impact from commercial activities primarily in the Central Ohio region. Shop Social Cbus is an initiative of CSED.
