Columbus Chamber & CD102.5 Partner for cbuzz Podcast

Business-themed podcast cbuzz is set to debut on CD102.5’s airways this Sunday, June 14. The Columbus Chamber and the radio station partnered on the first business-centric podcast in the area.

The podcasts will highlight the success stories of local business owners and entrepreneurs and the love they have for Columbus. The goal is to capture the entrepreneurial spirit that is abundant throughout the city.

“Working at the Columbus Chamber and talking with locally-owned businesses every day, it is evident to me the love people have for Columbus is truly unique,” says Columbus Chamber Director of Marketing and Communications Dilara Casey, “And business owners have an extra level of love for Central Ohio, because they see opportunity here and want to make something out of it.”cbuzzlogo

Seventy percent of the Chamber’s members are small businesses.

“This program was especially created to highlight them, allow them to tell their stories, and hopefully inspire even more entrepreneurial spirit in Central Ohio,” Casey says.

Locally-owned and beloved radio station CD102.5 will broadcast a selected podcast on the second Sunday of every month before The Big Room Brunch.

“The whole concept just resonated with us because we love Columbus” says CD102.5 General Manager, Leslie Edwards. “We’re a local business too, so we want to do what we can to help tell these stories and celebrate the amazing things that happen here.”

For those wanting to hear even more local love, additional podcasts will be available on iTunes and for download on columbus.org or CD1025.com.

It’s truly an all-hands-on-deck local effort to produce the podcasts. Music-industry career program center GROOVE U is providing in-kind recording at their Short North studio. New agency Jump Goat Media is providing production and editing support. And, another in-kind contribution from locally-based Summerfield Advertising yielded the cbuzz logo.

A local host would be the only appropriate fit, so lifelong Columbus resident Dan Swartwout will be manning the mike. Swartwout is an honors graduate from The Moritz College of Law and touring stand-up comedian regularly featured on SiriusXM

“When I was approached with the opportunity, I didn’t hesitate to say yes,” he says. “It’s not every day you get to pick the brains of some of the brightest business people in the city and have a one-on-one conversation with them.”

The first brain to be picked is Joe DeLoss of you’ve been living under a rock if you haven’t’ heard of it Hot Chicken Takeover. Listen this Sunday to hear about more than chicken, as DeLoss talks about the business model that has garnered almost as much attention as the food.
