The Columbus Chamber has been around for awhile — 130 years to be exact. The organization will be celebrating this milestone this Spring with a special recognition from City Council and with a staff volunteer day at the Junior Achievement of Central Ohio’s JA BizTown.
“As we mark 130 years, it is a perfect time to reflect on where we have been and, more importantly, where we are going,” said Michael Dalby, president and CEO, Columbus Chamber. “Today, the Columbus Chamber is stronger than ever. We have evolved to become a central hub for business services and strengthened our role as the voice of business to government. In short, we are laser-focused on growing the Columbus Region economy one business at a time.”
The Columbus Chamber was first known as the Columbus Board of Trade when it was established by a local group of business leaders om April 29, 1884. The name was changed to the Columbus Chamber of Commerce in 1910, but the goals have always remained the same: to share information and advocate for a stronger business environment.
“Our team at the Columbus Chamber is proud to support Columbus businesses — whether they are century-old enterprises or startups,” said Dalby. “We look forward to continuing to transform this organization so that it can serve as a hub for business connections, and provide innovative resources and solutions for the next century and beyond.”
