Columbus finally had some crowdfunding wins in April. Theft-proof drawstring backpack Flack Sack has earned the attention of over 1,000 backers and Gunmetal dice are proving to be a hit as well.

So what’s in store for May? A new board game parlor is coming to Clintonville, two artisans look to expand the reach of their goods, and there’s good news if you are a burlesque dancer…keep reading to learn more!

    Tabletop Game Cafe

Strategic Euro-games, word games, family games – Tabletop Game Cafe will offer a little bit of everything when it opens in Clintonville later this summer. The 3,000 square-foot space features plenty of tables and a menu of coffee, snacks and conveniently hand-held empanadas. Major funding comes compliments of a SBA loan, but Tabletop Games is raising funds to take the concept from “good to fantastic,” adding more games, better equipment and some finishing touches on the space.

Snap-Eaze, Interchangeable Pasties with a Twist

Sometimes there are problems that the average person doesn’t know exist…the uncomfortableness of changing pasties likely falls into that category. However, Snap-Eaze offers a solution. The two-piece operation means one direct to skin application of the liner and a plethora of interchangeable pasty options. With this campaign comes an education in the different sizes, shapes, peaks, colors, tassel options and gem patterns that exist with pasties. Funds will go towards materials, equipment (including a Recyclebot to avoid wasting plastic) and buildout of a better website.

Unique Hand-Made Coin Rings for Men or Women

Mrs. Magpie’s Treasures is transforming your average coin into a statement piece of jewelry (and it’s not illegal in case you are wondering). Dimes and quarters get the ring treatment and the husband-and-wife duo is raising funds to add equipment and materials to expand their coin jewelry line. Back the campaign for your own ring.

    Handcrafted Leather Belts, Keychains

Columbus Leather is back for another crowdfunding go, this time finding success. The leather goods maker is selling keychains, belts and beverage holsters to raise money to purchase equipment, cover booth fees and test new products. The company also has bigger goals of creating an internship program for high school students.
