COhatch Doubles Down on Mall Meets Coworking
Local coworking concept COhatch is heading for the Easton Gateway. COhatch will transform 7,500 square feet of Charming Charlie’s retail space at 4182 Worth Ave. into their sixth Central Ohio location.
COhatch recently opened its first mall location “The Pub” Polaris, where it offers coworking by day and bar and event space by night in partnership with Brothers Drake Meadery. Like the other COhatch offices, the Easton location will offer a mix of private offices, dedicated desks, flexible co-working spaces, meeting rooms, large conference rooms and event spaces.
“Easton is a place for people to connect through the experiences of shopping, dining and entertainment, and co-working environments are a perfect fit,” said Jennifer Peterson, Chief Executive of Easton. “We are thrilled to welcome COhatch to Easton Gateway as a place where our community can connect. Easton is a true neighborhood and we can’t wait for entrepreneurs, coworkers, individuals and families to come together in new creative environments.”
COhatch is working with real estate investment trusts on innovation strategies for retail spaces as more major brands close stores and malls convert to multi-use sites.
The COhatch location at Easton is expected to open by January 2020.

Kiddie Academy with a Twist
Educational childcare franchise Kiddie Academy is heading for Downtown Columbus with a first for the company. The slated location at 37 N. High St. will include coworking for families that are enrolled at the preschool.
Utilizing the basement of the building, Kiddie Academy will offer a few private offices, as well as a large open work area. It’s a rare overlap between childcare and coworking, with a representative of the company saying they want to utilize their extra space to measure demand for the concept.
The location is currently under construction and aiming for a late fall opening.
