Cheryl’s Teams Up with ARC Industries on Gluten-Free Goodies

Westerville-based cookie maker Cheryl’s has partnered with ARC Industries to expand their product line to include gluten-free goodies. The partnership not only means more treats for sweets lovers, but an opportunity to provide employment for more than 20 ARC Industries clients.

Cheryl’s is thrilled to be working with ARC Industries to provide work experiences for developmentally disabled individuals from Westerville and other Ohio communities,” says Cheryl’s General Manager Bob Happel.

For more than 40 years, ARC Industries has been providing employment opportunities and support for individuals in Central Ohio with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Cheryl’s own production staff is working closely with the ARC Industries clients to provide this meaningful work experience.

“We are also excited to launch our new product line that provides our customers with baked goods that are not only delicious but also meet the needs of those with gluten sensitivities and allergies,” Happel says.

The gluten-free kitchen Cheryl’s is using is one of ARC Industries’ three commercial kitchen spaces around Columbus. Also known as Sunapple Kitchens, the spaces provide the proper licenses for a number of niche food makers who are also able to train ARC Industries employees on how to produce their products.

Cheryl’s gluten-free line includes fudge brownies, chocolate chip cookies, snickerdoodles, chocolate walnut brownie cookies, and, of course, her famous buttercream frosted cookies.
