Launched in 2016, the Columbus Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership for Small Business Series highlights relevant, actionable information and networking for startups, small business owners and entrepreneurs. The series features insights, trends and best practices custom tailored to small and midsize firms, covering topics like mentoring, business development, recruiting, retention, marketing and more. As a unified voice for Central Ohio companies and the region’s premier advocate for a thriving small business community, the Columbus Chamber leverages and delivers content from its growing membership of nearly 1,400 businesses.

How can your business build trust with the millennials in your organization? The Columbus Trust Study: Building Trust with Millennials will take a deep dive into the insights that can help build trust throughout a cross-generational workforce.

“The Columbus Trust Study analyzed perceptions of Central Ohio businesses through the three C’s of trust: Character, Competence and Connection,” says Somers Martin, director of small and diverse businesses at the Columbus Chamber. “The study found that trust and communications are among two of the most important factors among any business.”TrustStudy

The U.S. Census Bureau suggests that Millennials are set to surpass Baby Boomers as the largest living adult generation.

“Millennials are changing the way employers approach their company cultures, benefits and work styles,” Martin says.

To attract top talent, businesses will have to develop an understanding of the Millennial mindset.

“The results of the Columbus Trust Study provide employers with unique insights on how they can best utilize the Millennial workforce that are pertinent to our local business community,” Martin says. “This program will aid businesses with the tools they need to build a trusting workforce, leaving attendees feeling confident about the future of their organizations.”

Building Trust With Millennials will be held at Red Brick Occasions, 118 E. Main St. on Tuesday, March 27. Networking begins at 3:00 p.m. with presentation from 3:45 – 5 p.m. with additional networking time to follow.
