The Columbus Chamber of Commerce will hold its annual meeting from 7:00 – 9:15 a.m. on Thursday, February 11, 2016 at the Greater Columbus Convention Center. The meeting will feature a keynote address by local venture capitalist Mark Kvamme, co-founder and partner at Drive Capital.
“Our members have shown an increased interest in technology and innovation, so having Mark as our keynote was a no-brainer,” says Chamber President Michael Dalby. “And the fact that he’s right here in Central Ohio speaks so highly of the direction where our business community is heading.”
The theme for this year’s meeting is Pivot, reflecting the rapidly developing – and changing – economic landscape in Central Ohio. Sometimes a bold move can have a big payoff.
Venture Capital is often about bold moves, and Kvamme will be interviewed by Alex Frommeyer, co-founder and CEO of Drive Portfolio Company Beam. The healthcare startup made some big changes itself to become part of Columbus’ teeming entrepreneurial community.
Through his career, Kvamme’s focus has turned from the coasts to the Midwest, and he will discuss innovation and entrepreneurship in the region.
“[Mark] has asserted himself as a thought-leader in innovative technology, healthcare and consumer companies in the Midwest,” Dalby says. “We look forward to having him share insights on innovation and entrepreneurship with our members and guests.”
Recipients of the Columbus Award and Small Business Leader Award will also be honored during the meeting.
Tickets are $100 for Columbus Chamber members and $120 for non-members.
