New York-based coworking chain Industrious will more than triple its presence in Columbus. Industrious will add its second location on the third and fourth floors of the mixed-use development at 875 N. High St., the former site of Grandview Mercantile.
The new location is just 0.4 miles from Industrious’ 10,000 square foot space at The Joseph, 629 N. High St., which opened in September 2015. With 100 percent occupancy at its first location, Industrious Columbus – Mercantile brings 30,000 square feet of new coworking space to the market.
“Columbus has proven to be an attractive business hub, and we are excited to expand within the vibrant Short North area,” said Katharine Lau, Senior Director of Real Estate at Industrious. “The art, retail, and nightlife in the neighborhood has drawn companies, and we want to be there to help them grow.”
Industrious offers a mix of open workspace and private offices that accommodate solopreneurs to small teams. Industrious’ new location will feature open floor plans, floor-to-ceiling glass windows, and unique outdoor spaces designed exclusively for the coworking community.
Industrious is the first tenant announced for the Pizzuti Companies’ mixed-use development which will include an additional 15,000 square foot of Class A office space and 12,000 square feet of ground-floor retail situated along High Street and West First Avenue. A second phase of the development will also integrate luxury apartments along West First Avenue.
Short North has seen a boom of national coworking chains setting up shop in the mixed-used developments rising across the neighborhood. In addition to both Industrious locations, Serendipity Labs recently opened its second Columbus location across the street at 886 N. High St. Global coworking firm Spaces will also add 42,000 square feet of coworking space at 711 N. High St.
