Located at 1188 N. High St., the Dames Bond Market Place will host a soft opening Sept. 11. A grand opening is slated for the first weekend in November.

The shop, which spans almost 1,600 square feet, will carry a variety of local products, from all-natural cupcakes and dog treats to greeting cards and oil paintings.

Dames Bond is the first all-female online business directory of its kind in Central Ohio; it’s time to make it come to life,” says Mary Relotto, founder of Dames Bond, about opening a brick and mortar shop.

“We have a lot of members who make fabulous product, appreciated best when seen, touched, tasted and smelled,” she adds. “For many of our members, it’s their first time in a retail shop. I can’t wait for customers to come in and be wowed with what they find.”

Not only will the Dames Bond Market Place give women in business an opportunity to test new products and designs, it will also give them an opportunity to connect with consumers outside of networking events.

“It’s a natural progression for Dames Bond and an important step to make Dames Bond a go-to source for products and services, whether people shop online or in person,” Relotto says.

Every weekend, the shop will showcase its vendors with Meet The Dame Maker events to encourage consumers to meet the women behind its merchandise.

Beginning in November, the shop will also host several mini workshops centered around food, art, and professional development. They will be lead by Dames Bond members for groups of up to 10 people.

The workshops will be open to the public and Dames Bond members will receive a discounted attendance fee.

To stay up to date about new vendors, specials, events and sales, Relotto recommends liking the Dames Bond Market Place Facebook page.

Further, shoppers who present a receipt from Surly Girl Saloon or Betty’s Fine Food & Spirits will get 5 percent off their Dames Bond Market Place purchase.
