Have you ever wondered what it takes to design, develop and manufacture an automobile? Perhaps start a 3D printing company from the ground up? How about design a business around your lifestyle instead of the other way around? What about doing it all at the same time? On Friday, May 8, Michael Cao will walk Startup Week attendees through the areas of automotive design, business design and lifestyle design.
Automotive Design: A typical automobile has 30,000 individual parts. How do all of these parts get conceptualized and designed? How do they provide a global customer with a safe, clean, compliant, affordable, yet fun-to-drive product? How is it all brought together to be mass produced? Michael shares his 12 years of global product design and development experience at Honda R&D in Ohio and Japan.
Business Design: Through building his own business, IC3D Printers, over the last three years while working full-time at Honda R&D, Michael has learned to leverage the latest web and mobile tools, virtual assistants and e-commerce partners to minimize hours spent in and on the business, and maximize profit, customer outreach and brand building. Learn what tools he uses (they are nearly all free) and how they can change the way you do business.
Lifestyle Design: A “lifestyle entrepreneur” starts with defining the aspects of daily, weekly, monthly and yearly life, then creating income generation around these. Michael explains his passions of tinkering with the latest machinery and gadgets, supporting education and community, all while being able to travel and explore the world and cross off his bucket list. He then ties this together with business design to show you a different mindset from that of the “traditional entrepreneur.”
Follow his entrepreneurial journey through corporate innovation in conjunction with small-business innovation towards a life of happiness and success. The basis for his methods: “starting with the why.”
Join Michael Cao on Friday, May 8 at 11:00 a.m. at the Garden Theatre in the Short North, 1187 N High St., Columbus, OH 43201.
