Think Space Columbus precursor to biz incubator for women

Entrepreneurs and startups in need of a room for meetings, events, or training have a new option in Westerville.

Think Space Columbus, at 24 Westerview Dr. near I-270 and I-71, is a 1,400-square-foot space that includes two bathrooms and a kitchenette. It can be rented for $100 per hour, for a half day at $200, or for an entire day at $300.

Free walk-up parking is also available.

Think Space is “a colorful, relaxed venue that offers basic amenities of Wi-Fi, projector [and] whiteboard, but −more importantly− allows you to rearrange the room to fit your needs at a cost effective price,” says Mary McCarthy, who owns and operates Think Space with Caroline Worley.

The space was designed by Carman Hafer of We Decorate Columbus and Darla King of King Business Interiors.

Another advantage to renting Think Space is that upcoming events there are promoted on its website and social media accounts, McCarthy says.

Additionally, companies receive a 20 percent discount on rent the first time they host an event at Think Space.

In 2009, McCarthy and Worley founded Your Management Team Inc. to help entrepreneurs learn about managing, funding, and growing a successful business. They consider Think Space the precursor to a business incubator for women that they want to open by fall of this year.

“An overwhelming majority of microentrepreneurs fail because of a lack of money or lack of knowledge,” McCarthy says. “For women who are starting businesses, often as a result of downsizings and other factors outside their control, the challenges can feel overwhelming. We’re committed to providing educational guidance and comprehensive resources in an environment where they can learn and grow together.”

A site for the incubator has been selected near Otterbein College. Your Management Team plans to unveil additional details by mid-summer.
