Entrepreneurs looking to launch community market ventures can celebrate today, as their work just got a little bit easier.
Columbus City Councilmember Michelle M. Mills, chair of the public safety and judiciary committee, announced earlier this week that proposed “community market” legislation is being designed and reviewed to help small businesses thrive in marketplace environments.
The legislation was announced at the season open of the Downtown Pearl Market on Tuesday, which is celebrating it’s 20th year in 2012. The market is hosted every Tuesday and Friday from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. between May 15 and October 26 and supports dozens of small businesses through vendor stalls and booths.
