Columbus Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Michael Dalby announced in December that he was stepping down from the role, and today his official replacement has been named. President and Publisher of Columbus Business First Don DePerro will switch over into the new position on March 1st.
“Don DePerro’s breadth of knowledge and passion for the local business community is a perfect fit for the Columbus Chamber,” said John McEwan, chairman of the Chamber’s Board of Directors. “As a great communicator with a successful entrepreneurial background, Don brings the business and marketing savvy that will guide the Chamber as it navigates the needs of business in such areas as workforce development, networking, research and business services.”
DePerro has served as the head of Columbus Business First since 1996. The business publication is owned by American City Business Journals, a North Carolina-based media company that operates 40 similar publications in US markets.
“For the past 20 years, I have been immersed in the vitality of business life in Columbus and Central Ohio,” said DePerro. “I am thrilled to be taking on this new and exciting opportunity, and to serve as a leader of one of the most successful business communities in this country.”
