“The Fifth Third Learning Lab will change the way we teach our curriculum, allowing for much more of an interactive, classroom experience,” Kim Gayle, Manager of Training at ECDI says. “With a more hands-on approach, our clients will be able to walk away better prepared for the difficulties they face in the ever-changing, small business climate.”

The Learning Lab provides quality training for startups and existing business owners and financial management courses for grant recipients who are first time home-buyers or receiving post-secondary education. The space will help hundreds of ECDI clients, while also filling the needs of Women’s Business Center of Ohio members, who rely on concise trainings to gain sound business knowledge.

The investment was made possible by Fifth Third Bancorp’s Strengthening our Communities Fund.

“We are excited that we were able to secure funding from our Company to support this worthwhile project,” says Stefanie Steward-Young, Senior Vice President of Community  and Economic Development for Fifth Third Bank of Central Ohio. “Our support is impactful because it helps provide training for start-up and existing business owners, as well as to help provide financial management courses.  We are proud to be able to use our Company’s resources to make a meaningful difference.”

The Learning Lab is equipped with state-of-the-art presentation technology, supported by IT and administrative professionals.
