Understanding Small Business Certifications and How to Apply

Join the Ohio Small Business Development Center in partnership with the Dublin Entrepreneurial Center in a discussion about business certifications, Local, State and Federal government procurement opportunities, what is available and how you can grow your business through certification.
The session will provide an overview of the certifications and how they can impact your business. Specific areas to be covered:
- What does being certified mean?
- What types of businesses qualify for what certifications?
- What are the different certifications available?
- What is involved in the application process?
- How certification impacts the government procurement process?
Speaker: Ellen Harvey, CBA
Ellen Harvey is a Certified Business Advisor for the Ohio Small Business Development Center at Columbus State Community College (SBDC). Ellen also serves as the Capital Access Manager for Kiva Columbus through the SBDC Kiva Partnership. Ellen is an economic development and lending relations professional with 18 years of experience researching, planning, implementing and evaluating small business and economic development programs for City, State and Federal agencies.
