The Food Fort, Powered by ECDI, Gears Up for its 2nd Annual QFM96 Food Truck Festival

On Saturday, August 1, The Food Fort will partner with Columbus classic rock radio station QFM96 to host their second annual food truck festival in Westerville.

Last year’s festival featured over 20 of Columbus’ most popular food trucks and carts, attracting over 2,500 curious rock n’ roll food connoisseurs who were eager to get an introduction to the thriving mobile food scene in Central Ohio.

Food trucks will once again be the main attraction this year, featuring a myriad of curbside cuisine. Everything from your typical food truck offerings (gyros, tacos and funnel cakes) to more unique delicacies you wouldn’t expect to find on a truck (e.g., oysters, ramen and chorizo burgers) will be available at QFM96 Studios. Loops Food Truck, fan favorite from last year, is happy to be back at one of their favorite festivals of the busy food truck season. Between this festival and the Columbus Food Truck Festival scheduled for August 14 – 16, Operator Jim Comyns predicts a busy yet successful August for the Loops crew.

“The QFM96 Food Truck Festival is fantastic,” Comyns said. “That classic rock crowd is right up our alley…they’re a great group of people who were incredibly supportive of our truck last time out.”

In addition to over 16 food vendors, this year’s festival will also feature an extensive lineup of live music throughout the day, headlined by local guitar legend Willie Phoenix and his band, The Soul Underground. Last year’s crowd favorite Breaking Sane, as well as the popular act Long Tall Deb Featuring Colin John, will also be performing early-evening sets. The full band lineup can be found here.

“We are thrilled to once again be partnering with QFM96 to host our second annual food truck festival,” Kevin Brennan, Food Fort marketing manager said. “With the addition of the revamped music lineup, it’ll be a great way for our clients to reach the Westerville community, as well as attract the loyal QFM96 demographic.”

The second annual QFM96 Food Truck Festival will take place at QFM96’s radio station from 3:00 – 9:00 p.m. In addition to the copious amounts of food and live music, this year’s festival will also include a Muth Roofing race car display, ticket giveaways from Dream Seats and QFM96, a face painting station hosted by The ScareAtorium makeup crew, pet adoptions from the Delaware Humane Society, as well as the first QFM96 “Bragging Rights” classic car contest.
