FranNet offering seminars for those considering franchise ownership

FranNet of Central Ohio is offering a free seminar, titled How To Find and Finance Your Own Franchised Business, on Saturday, as well as Oct. 15 and Oct. 26. The seminar is geared toward those considering an alternative to another job or corporate career, and anyone who has considered business ownership.

The seminars on Saturday and Oct. 15 will take place at 5005 Pine Creek Dr. in Westerville from 10-11:30 a.m. The seminar on Oct. 26 will take place at the Economic and Community Development Institute at 1655 Old Leonard Ave. in Columbus from 6-7:30 p.m.

Louisville, Ky-based FranNet −which was recently recognized by Inc. magazine as one of the top 500 fastest growing companies in America− aims to help entrepreneurs find a franchise business that fits their lifestyle, budget, skill set, and financial goals.

“We see the down economy as an opportunity”, says Ted Fireman, partner at FranNet Central Ohio. “FranNet’s business is growing and we’re breaking records because the recession is fueling growth of new franchised businesses. More and more people are turning to franchise ownership, particularly lower investment business-to-business and consumer services businesses, as a viable means to gain a stable future in uncertain times.”

The workshops will cover the pros and cons of business ownership, and compare and contrast franchises, start ups and existing businesses. They also will help attendees learn how to conduct research and due diligence systematically and effectively to manage risk, evaluate potential, and find a great match.

Other topics include how to invest in your own business safely and without penalty using 401k or IRA money, as well as systems for starting and staying successfully in business.
