Startup Weekend Licking County will be held February 7 – 9, 2014 at the Burton Morgan Lecture Hall at Denison University. The 54-hour frenzy begins at 6:30 pm on Friday with activities scheduled through 9:00 pm on Sunday.
Whether you’re an entrepreneur with an idea, curious about startups, or think your skills could help a local, small business, Â Statrup Weekend provides a platform for all to get involved in the entrepreneurial community. Attendees can pitch, and potentially turn their idea into an actual business all in one weekend.
Any entrepreneur  is welcome to pitch their idea for any type of business, with teams forming around top plans that are selected by popular vote. Team leaders put out “calls for help” to build relationships with other attendees who have the right skills to help build their business. An intense two days later, teams will present their ideas to be judged by a panel of local leaders in the entrepreneurial community.
Throughout the weekend, entrepreneurs can seek counsel from seasoned coaches from the business community. Licking County Startup Weekend’s coaches include, Diane King, Business Lecturer at the Ohio State University-Newark and Coordinator of the Regional Business Program, Kimberly Goudy, Associate Professor for the department of Business Management Technologies of Central Ohio Technical College, and Patrick Ford, Vice President and Wealth Management Advisor with Merrill Lynch.
Registration is $60, or $30 for students. For more information and to register, visit lickingcounty.startupweekend.org.
