Mayor Coleman hosts the 11th annual Small Business Conference & Expo September 26-27 at the Hyatt Regency Columbus at the Greater Columbus Convention Center. The two-day event will focus on all things small business, offering a variety of interactive workshops, sessions, luncheons and speakers, as well as an exhibitor expo.
The event provides ample opportunities for networking, with over 500 professionals and entrepreneurs expected to attend. Registration is required, and tickets are $25. Exhibitor spaces are available for $65.
The theme for the 2013 conference is “Go Forward II: New Directions to Small Business Growth and Profitability.”
Workshops and exhibitor expos will provide small business owners information and tools to enhance their success. Sessions will focus on small business and procurement trends, while the expo will give attendees a chance to interact with successful small business owners while they highlight their products and services.
Thursday’s luncheon, “Lean In to Business and Contracting Success” will discuss trends and opportunities for women-owned businesses. Women are important to the small business community in Columbus, earning the city the ranking by Forbes Magazine as the 7th best for female founders. During Friday’s luncheon, “Demand-side Entrepreneurship: Giving Businesses What They Want,” industry leaders will discuss how governments and corporations can partner with small business to be successful.
Notable Columbus business leaders and CEOs, along with nationally recognized speakers including Lisa Price, Founder of Carol’s Daughter, and Sarah Fisher, CEO of Sarah Fisher Hartman Racing, will act as speakers.
Also, winners of the KickStart WIDGETPITCH competition will have the opportunity to present their business to a panel of investors.
