SBA Hosts Small Business Resource Corridor Expo August 11

Local resource providers are teaming up for the Small Business Resource Corridor Expo this Friday, August 11. Hosted by the Small Business Administration, Economic & Community Development Institute, the Women’s Business Center, Fifth Third Bank and the Destiny Center, the event will be a one-stop-shop for new to existing business owners to connect with resource providers in the city.

“Small business owners are busy; often, they’re everything from the CEO, to the bookkeeper, to the janitor, to keep their business going,” says Rick Garcia, U.S. SBA Columbus district director. “With the Small Business Resource Corridor, we are gathering experts and resources in every field that touches small businesses so that the entrepreneurs that attend the event get a high return on the time that they’ve invested in attending through valuable connections and one-on-one counseling.”

Over 15 small business service providers will be at the Expo, including:

  • Small Business Development Center
  • SCORE
  • COMBA
  • Increase CDC
  • City of Columbus
  • State of Ohio
  • ECDI
  • Women’s Business Center
  • The Destiny Center
  • Ohio River Valley Women’s Business Council (ORV~WBC)
  • Ohio Minority Supplier Development Council
  • Procurement Technical Assistance Center
  • Central Ohio United Way
  • CleanTurn
  • Small Business Administration

The Small Business Corridor Expo will take place ECDI, 1655 Old Leonard Ave. Tours of ECDI’s facilities and Women’s Business Center will be available, as well as The Destiny Center, 1561 Old Leonard Ave.

The Fifth Third E-Bus will also be on hand offering free credit scores to attendees. Participants will be able to review their scores with Fifth Third staff and seek counseling on other topics including financing, money management and building good credit scores.

The event is free to attend and runs from 8:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. on Friday, August 11.
