The Metropreneur and Rotary District 6690 have teamed up to host the first-ever Central Ohio Social Entrepreneur of the Year Awards.
Six businesses have been named finalists: Billy Two Shoes; CivitasNow; Freedom a la Cart; Freshbox Catering; Fulcrum Creatives; and The Greener Grocer.
The finalists will make five-minute presentations to Rotary members at their district conference this morning at The Northpointe Conference Center in Lewis Center. Presentations begin at 10 a.m.
More than 100 Rotarians will vote on this year’s award winner, which will be announced at the Social Entrepreneur of the Year Awards ceremony at the Gateway Film Center May 23.
Social entrepreneurship uses entrepreneurial principles and practices to create ventures aimed at solving social problems.
Members of the Rotary Clubs of Central and Southeast Ohio are community leaders whose motto is “Service Above Self,” so it seems fitting that they would recognize the social entrepreneurs who make our communities and the world a better place to live.
