When it comes to small business resources, ECDI continues to be the go-to for Columbus’ entrepreneurs.
Offering a comprehensive suite of services, from educational resources to loans, ECDI can help individuals whether they are looking to start a business or grow an existing enterprise.
In 2019, ECDI disbursed $4.6 million in loan capital, which helped start 126 new business and create 214 jobs. Throughout the year, the organization was able to help 1,272 clients.
This year also saw the expansion of ECDI’s popular Food Fort, which earned its own spot on the list. As the demand for the rentable commercial kitchen space continued to grow, so did many Food Fort clients. ECDI saw a need to create a new space that would help large, successful clients like Dos Hermanos with a stepping stone between shared kitchen space and being out on their own. Located next to ECDI’s current campus, Food Fort 2.0 is comprised of commercial kitchens, workshop spaces, and a community room.Â
