Athens-Based Jackie O’s Brewery Expanding to Columbus

Athens-based Jackie O’s Brewery is headed to Columbus. The popular brewery has purchased the former home of Elevator Brewing Company on North Fourth Street. One of Central Ohio’s oldest breweries, Elevator went up for sale in June 2020, citing financial hardships from the coronavirus pandemic.

Founded in 2005, Jackie O’s has expanded its presence around Athens, but this will be the first location outside of its home city.

“This is something we’ve been dreaming about for years,” says Jackie O’s Owner Art Oestrike. “We are excited it’s finally becoming a reality and can’t wait to bring Jackie O’s to our supportive customers in the Columbus community.”

Renovations are underway on the 5,800 square foot brewing facility at 165 N. Fourth St. which will house a 15-barrel brewhouse. A carryout storefront will be located next-door at 171 N. Fourth St., offering to-go beer and merchandise sales to the public. The carryout is expected to open in the next few months, with the brewing facility following in 2021.

Currently Jackie O’s operates five facilities in Athens – the original Jackie O’s Brewpub, the Public House Restaurant, Jackie O’s Taproom and production brewery, Barrel Ridge Farm, and Jackie O’s Bakeshop.

Jackie O’s beer can be found in most grocery store chains in the state of Ohio and at a number of specialty beer stores. The brewery offers a rotating selection of 50 plus beers available across its locations.
