    Barley’s Smokehouse: Barbecue and Beer Review

    Barley’s Smokehouse is a microbrewery that provides a variety of house-made food to go with its brews. Not to be confused with Barley’s Brewing Co. on N. High Street near Downtown, the large Dublin Road facility emphasizes food — especially barbecue –and drink equally.

    Beer-friendly appetizers include wings ($7.99 for 10) that avoid the rich pitfalls of batter coatings. After frying, they’re briefly grilled. Two winning treatments: traditional Buffalo style and a jerk saucing that’s pungent with fresh garlic and aromatic hints of jerk seasoning, and Caribbean chili.
