Dynamit has announced plans to relocate to a larger office and create 30 new jobs in the next three years.
The data, design and technology company is currently located in a 5,000-square-foot office at 300 Marconi Blvd. in the Arena District. The new 9,300-square-foot office is next door at 274 Marconi Blvd.
GRA+D is designing Dynamit’s new headquarters in a way that promotes community, creativity and collaboration.
“We’ve always been a fan of open floor plans,” says Matt Dopkiss, co-founder and CEO of Dynamit. “When we first started the company, typical for any bootstrapped startup, there were five of us crammed in a tiny space. While we’ve got more room now, we continue to find value in overheard conversations, close proximity and mobility within the office.”
Dynamit launched in 2004 in Northwest Columbus. Five years later, the company moved to the Arena District.
“It’s a central location in the city and no secret that it’s a hub of activity to live, work and play,” Dopkiss says. “Team members, clients and partners want to come down here, and it’s built a density in terms of technical/digital shops over the past five to 10 years. We considered the Brewery District, the Short North and even further toward downtown, but the Arena District is definitely our home.”
Dynamit plans to be in its new office by early 2014.
At the moment, the company has 40 full-time employees.
“We’ll continue to grow out team with a variety of creative professionals, such as architects, engineers, designers, writers, and account managers,” Dopkiss says.
In a statement released last week, Columbus Mayor Michael Coleman called Dynamit “a premier example of our region’s ability to attract and retain highly skilled creative and IT professionals.”
Columbus is home to a number of progressive brands and companies who both need and foster great technical talent, Dopkiss says.
“It’s a smart town− one that’s not afraid to experiment and build product and strategies with meaningful outcome,” he continues. “This is evidenced by the growth we’ve seen over a difficult few economic years for the country.”
