A new monthly event series is coming to the Wave Innovation Center reflecting its collaboration-focused mission. Collaborate & Elevate launches Thursday, September 27 from 5-7:30 p.m. at the Wave, 325 W. Fifth Ave.
The purpose of the events is simple: connect individuals to resources, mentors, and information that enables them to grow. The events will bring the business community together for a mix of networking and presentations from guests speakers representing successful entrepreneurs in their respective industries.
Organizer Manny Larcher says not to expect just a generic Q&A or a business owner simply promoting what they are doing, but real talk about an individual’s successes and failures.
The speaker lineup for the first event reflects the diversity of industries and insights attendees can expect at Collaborate & Elevate. Vol 1. guest speakers include:
- Marshall Shorts of Creative Control Fest
- Alexia Winfield of the Columbus Book Project
- Terry Green of Think Make Live
- Pat Gibson of Rapchat
- Carlos Arango of Candle With a Cause
- Nile Woodson of Hai Poké
- Mico Cordero of Hai Poké
Connections and conversations will continue after the event with a Slack channel and a weekly newsletter highlighting happenings in the entrepreneurial community.
Collaborate & Elevate also has its next event on deck. On Thursday, October 25, Wave Innovation Group Founders Michael Redd and Danny Ortiz will take the stage for a conversation moderated by Mikaela Hunt to share their insights into entrepreneurship and personal development. Through the parent Group, Redd and Ortiz are responsible for both the Wave Innovation Center and Collaborate & Elevate.
The evening will also feature a conversation with myself and entrepreneur Tom Burden. Burden took his idea for Grypmat, a flexible, non-slip rubber tool mat that conforms to perilous angles and shapes with ease, all the way from Kickstarter to Shark Tank.
