Google Launches Express Next Day Delivery in Columbus

Google wants to take a bite out of your Amazon Prime spending habits. The company first launched its Google Express delivery service in select markets in 2013, and today announced that it is expanding to several midwest cities including Columbus.

The service allows shoppers to browse from multiple online stores all in one place, which includes Costco, Barnes & Noble, Kohl’s, Staples, Walgreens, Toys R Us, Fry’s Electronics and others. Products purchased through the service will be delivered the following day, for no additional charge with standard membership.

“Our goal with Google Express is to offer a great shopping experience and connect people with their favorite stores,” said Brian Elliott, General Manager of Google Express. “Today, we’re very excited to be further expanding our efforts — making it easy for over 25 million people in the Midwest to get things they need from stores they love.”

A membership for Google Express costs either $10 per month or $95 per year. Google is also currently offering a free three-month trial to new members.
