Refugee Advocate and Author Luma Mufleh to Hold Book Signing

Refugee Advocate and Author Luma Mufleh to Hold Book Signing

Fugees Family, headquartered in Columbus, OH, is pleased to announce a book signing event with founder and CEO, Luma Mufleh, on May 16th from 7pm-8:30pm at The Book Loft of German Village located at 631 South 3rd Street Columbus, OH 43206. Mufleh’s latest book, “From Here,” is a coming-of-age memoir that chronicles her journey as a gay Muslim woman and Arab refugee finding her identity in America.

Mufleh’s story is both inspiring and heartrending, detailing the challenges she faced growing up in Jordan during the 1980s where being gay was considered a crime, and how she eventually found her way to the United States. Once there, she founded Fugees Family, a nonprofit dedicated to the education and support of refugee children in the United States.

“From Here” is a great read for the entire LGBTQ+ community (teens, young and older adults), as well as for anyone who advocates for refugees and immigrants. In her memoir, Luma Mufleh tells a story of perseverance and determination, and how she found her true self despite adversity.

The book signing is open to the public, and admission is free. RSVPs are appreciated. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet Luma Mufleh and have their copy of “From Here” signed.

“As an entrepreneur, coach, and thought leader in refugee and English Language Learner education, Luma Mufleh is an inspiration to many,” said Priscila Teixeira, PR and Media Contact for Fugees Family. “We are excited to host this book signing event and to give the public an opportunity to meet Luma, hear her story, and get a signed copy of her latest book.”
