Upcoming CORA Event Covers Restaurant Project & Approval Planning 101

A Central Ohio Restaurant Association event will help aspiring restaurant owners learn the ins and outs restaurant planning and project approval. The event will take place at the White Castle Systems Corporate & Training Offices at 555 W. Goodale Street on Wednesday, October 9th from 1:30 – 4:oopm.

“The goal of the seminar is to help new and existing restaurant businesses navigate the various aspects of Building and Zoning Services and to understand the resources available,” says Mark Swanson, President of Stauf’s, Cup o’ Joe and MoJoe Lounge. “Many people might be surprised to learn that BZS will meet with a potential restaurateur about a particular site and or concept and provide a simple review for free.”

Experts will cover seven topics to help new restaurateurs and those eateries thinking of opening another location wade through the nuts and bolts of zoning. Discussions include initial project planning, project approval process, building code requirements, building plan approval, inspections, public service information and health department information.

The initial project planning and project approval process sessions are broken down to the details. Initial planning includes topics like building and zoning code requirements, as well as outlining realistic time frames and challenges to consider. The project approval discussion will take and in-depth look at site plans, approvals needed and engineering details to consider.

While the event is aimed at restaurateurs, other professionals like realtors, general contractors, real estate developers and attorneys are encouraged to attend.
