The Small Business Majority is teaming up with a number of local organizations for a seminar on Wednesday, December 2 outlining what the Affordable Care Act means for small businesses in Ohio.
“The interactive event is open to all small businesses and entrepreneurs interested in learning about how the healthcare law affects their Ohio small business and how they can comply with and take advantage of the law,” says SBM Midwest Outreach Manager Michaela Hahn Burris.
Topics covered will include:
- – Small business tax credits – who’s eligible for them and how to claim them
- – Marketplace updates and how to enroll
- – Coverage eligibility
- – Advanced premium tax credits for the self-employed
- – Tools and resources available for small businesses and entrepreneurs interested in learning more about the law
An insurance broker will also be on hand to provide context on specific plans and enrollment. Additionally, business owners will have a chance to share their questions during a Q&A session.
“For small business owners, navigating the insurance market can be a challenge,” Burris says. “Small business owners are not healthcare experts and most small firms do not have human resource departments to grapple with complex employee benefit issues. That’s why Small Business Majority has made it a priority to educate small businesses and provide them access to the tools and resources they need to obtain quality healthcare for their employees.”
The event will take place at LA Catering and Event Center, 670 Harmon Ave., from 8:00 a.m. – 10 a.m., Wednesday, December 2. Cost is $15 and can be paid at the door. For more information and to register, click here.
